Welcome to The Melanie Blocker Stokes MOTHER’S Act Blog Week!
We’re thrilled to have you here and even more excited to be sharing an interview with none other than Mary Jo Codey!
One of our goals this week is to increase signatures to the Melanie Blocker Stokes MOTHER’S Act Support List at the Perinatal Pro website. (By the way, to add your name, email susanstonelcsw@aol.com. Be sure to include your name, state, and any affiliations and/or professional certifications)
We are also encouraging folks to call the Senate H.E.L.P. Committee, where The Melanie Blocker Stokes MOTHER’S Act is currently spending time. Voice your support. Let the members know American Mothers cannot afford to continue to suffer surrounded by a cloak of stigma!

If you’re a blogger, click here for participation guidelines and content ideas! Of course, your own story is best but we’re providing some interesting facts and quote sources for you to use as well!

If you’ve already signed the Perinatal Pro list, called the H.E.L.P. Committee, twittered, emailed, or let your friends know about your support at Facebook or MySpace, and don’t have a blog, please feel free to leave a comment below with your supportive note! Thanks! You’re awesome too!
We thank those of you who are participating to spread the word.
We thank those of you who are actively supporting and advocating for the passage of this important legislation.
But most of all, we recognize those who suffer Postpartum Mood Disorders in silence. We salute their families who have rallied around them even in the face of tragedy. We raise our voices to keep others from continuing to struggle in stifled fear.
There is nothing more powerful than ardent advocacy originating from determined survival.
This day is dedicated to survivors, families of tragic victims and especially to survivors who have turned their arduous journey into one of empowerment and strength.
I know first hand the passion of survival advocacy and am determined to Pass it On.
Won’t you do the same?
Email.
Call.
Speak.
We WILL be heard.
All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent. -Thomas Jefferson-
